Fix Auto Penzance
Over the last few years Fix Auto Penzance has really built up a strong reputation within the bodyshop industry; with over 30 years’ experience they are known for providing excellent customer service, which inevitably led them to win the Bodyshop Magazine’s ‘Small bodyshop of the year’ in 2017 and more recently bodyshop manager Joel was recently in the top three shortlisted for ‘Bodyshop manager award’ 2018, they are clearly an able and accomplished team.
Such a team needs to ensure that the bodyshop reflects the work taking place inside, and so Stuart Cameron, the business owner, made the decision to invest in the site by commissioning a large scale bodyshop redesign, and now the first phase of their major investment is complete.
The redesign has nearly doubled the previous premises footprint, after purchasing the land adjoining his facilities; this has provided a fantastic blank canvas on which to work.
Extending out from the original bodyshop is a project Todd Engineering has helped Stuart and his team bring to life. The project has created an additional six work bays including a three-bay spraybooth with integrated E5 Greentech gas catalytic Arch.
The combination of the top of the line three-bay spraybooth and the latest drying technology will, without doubt, optimize the company’s workflow, to help keep up with the growing workload.
The installation of the extension has gone smoothly and the results are to the highest standard. Stuart Cameron has commented on what the process has been like so far and how he feels about the next step for his company:
“Quality job sums up the creation of our new Express repair centre
Todd engineering has been outstanding throughout this project and the quality and attention to detail from the whole team really shows.
The technicians at Fix Auto Penzance cannot wait to get working in this new environment and use the equipment that has been installed; we are looking forward to the increased efficiency that this development will create.
The Three booths with the Robotic drying arch the additional preparation work bays equipped with LED lighting, electric doors and overhead dust extraction units make this a very impressive workshop.
The new Paint and Preparation facility will allow us to redesign our remaining workshops to give us a flow production and give all of the technicians more room to work reducing vehicle movement around the shop is key, overall efficiency is our aim which in turn will reduce our cycle times.
We thought about various different ideas over the last few years about how we could improve the site we have. With the constraints within it the existing buildings we began thinking about a separate standalone fast track shop which then developed into this Six bay Express paint shop and integral paint mixing room extension, Our aim is to make everything fast track with continuous flow processes that suit the size of our business.
Over the next few weeks, Todd paint products will be on site to begin staff training
Using our new facility and Todd Engineering will be back on site to erect a separate double Valet and Estimating inspection bay to complement this impressive build. “
